2016 Holiday Food Drives
Hoshizaki America, Inc. Annual Food Drive Benefits Multiple Local Charities
Peachtree City and Griffin, GA (December 5, 2015) – During the time of year when most people are giving thanks, the employees at both locations of Hoshizaki’s manufacturing plants donated a grand total 17,407 pounds of food to local charities.
The Peachtree City plant donated 10,464 pounds of non-perishable food items to The Real Life Center, which more than doubled their 2015 total.
The Griffin plant donated 6,943 pounds of non-perishable food good items to the Five Loaves and Two Fish Food Pantry, which is triple their 2015 total and was the largest donor to this organization.
The Real Life Center is a local charity whose “mission is to walk with those who are hurting in Fayette and Coweta counties by providing a safe environment, sharing the love of Christ, and promoting long-term change. This mission is accomplished through an innovative process of holistic care. This strategy includes caring for each person physically, emotionally, relationally, financially, mentally, and spiritually. [The Real Life Center] offers a one-year program designed to help families get back on their feet and to encourage them to set goals that will help promote lasting change.”

The Five Loaves and Two Fish Food Pantry provides a monthly bag of groceries to families in need. The Food Pantry seeks to provide several cans of vegetables, canned tuna or salmon, peanut butter, dry goods such as corn meal, bread, and meat in each allocation. Whenever they are available, fresh fruit and vegetables are also included. The Food Pantry is a partner in the Spalding County Collaborative Authority for Families and Children. As such, the Food Pantry works to connect families in need with the community resources most able to help them. For this reason, the Food Pantry avoids taking on new projects that “reinvent the wheel,” and instead support the work of other community agencies to address areas of need other than hunger.
